Position:
Versatile Maintenance Technician

Compensation:
£39,000 annually, with options for Overtime or Time Off in Lieu, along with Benefits and Career Advancement Opportunities

Working Hours:

We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Technician to join a prominent organization at one of their thriving production facilities.

You will become part of a welcoming and dedicated team of Maintenance Technicians who collaborate closely to maintain a dynamic work environment.

As a member of this experienced team, the Versatile Maintenance Technician will have ample opportunities for ongoing training and development. With multiple locations in the region and nationwide, there are significant prospects for career progression, including skill enhancement, on-the-job training, and additional qualifications for those interested in personal development.

The organization actively promotes participation in both internal and external training programs to facilitate professional growth, covering areas from electrical and mechanical skills to leadership and management training.

This role operates in a multi-skilled setting where both Electrical and Mechanical expertise are valued. For those wishing to improve their less dominant skill set, support and training will be provided.

If you possess experience in Maintenance or Service Engineering across various sectors, such as industrial, facilities management, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or other production environments, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. Maintenance Technicians will engage in both electro-mechanical maintenance tasks throughout the facility and will receive support to enhance their skills in either mechanical or electrical domains.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of all production equipment. This includes executing planned preventative maintenance and participating in project initiatives, such as new installations.

A background in Maintenance or Service Engineering is essential, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, production, or automated environments.

Completion of a recognized engineering apprenticeship or possession of engineering qualifications at Level 3 or higher is required, which may be in either mechanical or electrical disciplines.

Strong maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities are necessary, particularly with components such as motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, pumps, boilers, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, three-phase systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.

Applicants should be multi-skilled in addressing both electrical and mechanical challenges, with either specialization being acceptable. Additional skills in Electronics, particularly fault diagnosis to component level, are advantageous.

A proactive and self-motivated work ethic is essential, along with the flexibility to adapt start and finish times as required.

All activities must be conducted in compliance with the Site Health and Safety protocols and the relevant engineering standards.
