Job Title: Hourly Paid

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic individual to join our team at Solihull College & University Centre as a Communication Support Worker. The successful candidate will provide essential support to Deaf students on various courses across the College, utilizing their excellent communication skills and BSL Level 3 qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Deaf students in and outside of class, ensuring their needs are met and they have a positive learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Provide individualized support to students, adapting to their unique needs and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other stakeholders, utilizing BSL and other communication methods as necessary.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting equality and diversity.

Requirements:

  • BSL Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of supporting Deaf or Hearing Impaired students in an educational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work variable and flexible hours, up to a maximum of 37 per week.

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be based predominantly at Blossomfield College, with the possibility of working at other College campuses as required.
