Domestic Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and positive Domestic / Laundry Assistant to join our team at Burford House Care Home. As a key member of our household team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our residents' living spaces.

Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning all public areas, corridors, and lounges, as well as residents' rooms while respecting their right to privacy. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all public areas and staff facilities meet company standards at all times.

• Clean all public areas, corridors, and lounges regularly
• Clean residents' rooms while maintaining their right to privacy
• Ensure all public areas and staff facilities meet company standards
• Keep equipment maintained and stored properly
• Collect dirty linen/clothes from areas of the care home
• Sort laundry into appropriate wash cycles to avoid damage
• Wash, dry, and iron all linens and residents' personal clothing with care
• Operate laundry equipment, washing machines, tumble dryers, and rotary iron
• Sort residents' laundry to ensure each resident receives their own items
• Return clean linen to linen cupboards and clothing to residents' rooms on a regular basis
• Label all company linen with provided labels
• Maintain the laundry area by keeping it clean and tidy
• Carry out general household duties that promote residents' welfare
• Ensure residents are helped to retain their dignity and individuality

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, who can work in a team and possess a caring nature and positive attitude. Previous experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to understand Health and Safety, Infection Control, and COSHH.
