Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and relevant regulatory bodies, including HMRC and Companies House.
  • Support in the preparation of personal tax returns.
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks utilizing accounting software.
  • Contribute to the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Help in compiling working papers related to income and expenditures.
  • Manage auto-enrolment pension schemes.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new clients.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering calls, welcoming clients, and organizing documents for outsourcing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting practice with knowledge of personal tax computations.
  • AAT Qualified, currently studying, or QBE.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Karbon, Xero, TaxCalc, QuickBooks, and Ignition is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Attention to Detail: This role requires a keen eye for detail.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with an additional hour to be arranged with the business owner to fulfill a total of 37.5 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: £24,000 - £27,000 based on experience.
  • Pension scheme with 5% employer and 5% employee contributions.
  • 23 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
  • Support for AAT/ATT studies.
  • Birthday leave.
  • Company sick pay.
