Security Systems Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Systems Specialist to join our team at North. As a key member of our Life Safety and Security engineering team, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing our wide range of field equipment, including CCTV, WAN/LAN, and wireless systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install and commission our field equipment, including CCTV, WAN/LAN, and wireless systems.
  2. Retrofit upgrades and extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages.
  3. Provide high levels of customer service and support.
  4. Understand site plans and install equipment based on site survey documentation.
  5. Respond to reactive call-outs and aim to provide a first-time fix.
  6. Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during both reactive and planned visits.
  7. Complete documentation in line with company standards.
  8. Work within strict health and safety guidelines.
  9. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
  10. Advise customers on the latest products and services to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Capability of lone-working and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and self-motivated.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • DBS clearance (for working in schools).

Desirable Skills

  • Good people management skills.
  • Technical expertise in predominant skillset area.
  • Competent admin skills with sound working knowledge of internal business system.
  • Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades.
  • Install-oriented, but can interchange on Service-related tasks when required.
  • Good verbal communicator.
  • Excellent team player and relationship builder.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS Card.
  • IPAF/PASMA/Asbestos Awareness certification (preferred if available but training will be provided).
  • Recent/current electrical qualifications.
  • Sound and proven LAN/WAN/SD-WAN networking skills (Aruba and/or Cisco accredited).
  • Knowledge of industry-standard CCTV manufacturers preferred (Bosch, Dahua, Hikvision, Genetec, Veracity, Briefcam, Milestone).
