Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial and IP Associate to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex intellectual property matters, including licensing, assignments, and franchising contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling IP transactions, including licensing, assignments, and franchising contracts
  • Advising on structuring IP ownership
  • Drafting and negotiating R&D and collaboration agreements (spanning both academic and private sectors), as well as joint ventures
  • Conducting intellectual property audits
  • Providing support for broader transactions

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in non-contentious/transactional Intellectual Property matters
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage a complex and varied workload with ease
  • A self-motivated approach with a commitment to continuous learning
  • Experience in mentoring and leading others
  • Qualification as a lawyer, registered with the SRA or the Law Society of Scotland
