Whittington Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Mental Health team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients.
Main Responsibilities- Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of clients referred to our Mental Health Services.
- Assist in the coordination and running of Outreach groups and on occasion, therapeutic group interventions.
- Attend and contribute to appropriate business and clinical meetings.
- Receive regular clinical supervision and management in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
- Develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties.
- Attend team training when appropriate.
- Essential criteria:
- An upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology.
- 1 year's experience of working with people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
- Desirable criteria:
- Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of mental health practice or research design and analysis.
- Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist in NHS mental health services.
- High level of communication skills (written and verbal), including report writing skills.
- Excellent typing and IT skills and high level of expertise using Microsoft programmes.
- An ability to apply psychological ways of thinking to a mental health, social, and education context.
- Ability to form good working relationships with patients and work flexibly within MDT and multi-agency settings.
Comply with the Trust's Safeguarding Children and Adults policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure you are familiar with and comply with the London Child Protection Procedures and protocols for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
