Mencap is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employer Engagement Officer to join our team in Worcester. As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with Learning disabilities and/or Autism.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employers from various industries and sectors to secure work placements and negotiate paid employment for our supported interns.
- Oversee the work of Skills Coaches to ensure that placements progress and learners become independent, eventually moving into paid work.
- Identify and develop opportunities for our supported interns to gain work experience and skills in the workplace.
- Manage job coaches and ensure that they are providing effective support to our learners.
- Develop and nurture stakeholder and partnership relationships to generate a consistent flow of employment opportunities for our Supported Internships.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, and parents/carers.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and maintain accurate and up-to-date records using IT-based systems.
- Experience in employer engagement and marketing, with a strong understanding of the needs of employers and the benefits of working with individuals with Learning disabilities and/or Autism.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, including 32 days holiday (increasing to 35 days with long service) and the ability to buy up to 10 additional days via our HolidayPlus scheme.
- Eligibility to join our pension plan, with Mencap matching contributions up to 5% on a salary sacrifice basis.
