Position Overview:
Fellows Auctioneers is seeking a dedicated Luxury Jewellery and Watch Appraiser to enhance our esteemed Jewellery division. This full-time role is pivotal in our operations, focusing on the consignment of exquisite jewellery and timepieces for auction events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough valuations for clients, whether in-person, online, or at their locations, aiming to consign items for auction.
- Collaborate proactively with the International Head of Jewellery to secure valuable consignments.
- Support promotional activities and events in the London area.
- Assist during viewing and auction days, including managing telephone bids as necessary.
- Work in close coordination with the Jewellery and Watch departments to meet auction timelines.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients.
- Oversee the activities of the Specialist Jewellery Valuer and the Jewellery Admin Assistant.
- Provide insights to the marketing team regarding marketable content for consigned items.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Recognized gemological qualifications (FGA/DGA/GG, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Positive and approachable demeanor with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in valuing jewellery and watches.
- Willingness to engage in research and attend networking events.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Experience Required:
- Previous management experience in a relevant field.
- A strong passion for jewellery and watches.
- Familiarity with the auction process.
