This is an exciting opportunity to join our Internal Audit team at West Northants Council, a dynamic and ambitious organization that thrives with new ideas and cares about every detail. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for undertaking a varied and interesting portfolio of internal audit work across all areas of the Council.
Our Audit and Risk Management service provides a dedicated internal audit, internal control/risk management, and counter-fraud service to the Council and other partners. You will be supported by a Principal Auditor and will report to the Audit Manager.
The role is flexible, allowing you to carry out the majority of your work remotely, with occasional visits to the main Northampton office or other office locations for meetings as required. You will be responsible for providing assurance on the effectiveness of our risk management, governance, policy, and internal control processes.
We are looking for a full/part qualified CCAB, or Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or qualified Association of Accounting (AAT); or actively studying for a relevant qualification and have relevant experience commensurate with these qualifications and/or the role.
What We Offer- Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year, 29 days for senior managers (pro rata, depending on hours worked), plus bank holidays. An additional 5 days linked to continuous service, and the ability to purchase up to 6 weeks additional leave per year.
