Job Title: Locum Consultant Cardiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Cardiologist to join our team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The successful candidate will have a specialist interest in pacing and complex devices and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cardiovascular services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide mutual cover for annual, study, and professional leave for weekday cover, as well as weekend cover when necessary.
  • Contribute to the provision of cross-cover of the pacing service.
  • Offer consultation and advisory services to medical colleagues in other specialties.
  • Liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and post-graduate activities.
  • Participate in the Royal College of Physicians continuing medical education programme.

Person Specification:
  • Full GMC with Licence to Practice and entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • MD/PhD.
  • Independent Pacing and Complex Pacing operator.
  • Experience in subcutaneous ICD and leadless pacing.
  • Additional training in heart failure, imaging, or electrophysiology.
Experience:
  • Applicants from European countries or overseas must demonstrate equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
  • Experience in research or published papers in the area of special interest.
