Position Overview:
As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for executing scheduled preventative maintenance, addressing urgent repairs, and performing minor installations within a corporate and client-focused setting.
This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off schedule (day shifts only, no night shifts), and you will also support the call-out rota during your shifts. Please note that high-level security clearance is a prerequisite for this position.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure
- Address alarms from the Building Management System and manage emergency repairs
- Issue and oversee Permits to Work
- Maintain critical cooling water systems and domestic systems to L8 standards
- Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts for maintenance tasks
- Keep detailed maintenance records (including task sheets and electronic logs)
- Follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments diligently
- Supervise engineering subcontractors to ensure adherence to established protocols
- Foster positive working relationships with both Integral and client personnel
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with policies and procedures
- Uphold a professional image while delivering exceptional customer service
- Provide shift coverage for absent colleagues
- Assist during annual building shutdowns
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Critical Environments (e.g., Banking Headquarters, Data Centres)
- LV Authorised Person (preferred)
- Completion of an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
- C&G Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent qualifications
Certifications:
Wiring and Installation (training available for holders of the 17th Edition)
- C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification
- Strong communication skills
- Proactive approach to achieving high operational standards
- Competent in IT and report writing
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet service deadlines
