Job Summary

Qualcomm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer to join our Systems Validation and Emulation (SVE) team. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead validation requirements capture and associated cross-function reviews.
  • Proactively lead team and cross-functional initiatives contributing to project execution efficiency.
  • Develop innovative test systems and automated solutions for improved efficiency, including maintenance.
  • Evaluate and optimally use equipment, such as power supplies, spectrum analyzers, audio analyzers, etc.
  • Participate and lead pre/post silicon validation bring-up, validation, compliance testing, and debug.
  • IP performance optimization and debug of complex hardware as well as software issues.
  • Complex data manipulation using modern data science to analyze and extract statistical information.
  • Lead the collation, summarizing, and presenting of data for technical and program-level reviews.
  • Provide advanced technical input, support, and documentation for internal and external customers as required.
  • Lead and foster creation of relevant documentation deliverables following the department's processes.
  • Dedicate time to learning and development for self and team knowledge growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of Hardware Engineering experience or related work experience.
Required Skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage resources and tasks, multitask effectively, and strategically plan to overcome potential obstacles.
  • Experience working on Audio products, including audio or radio IPs.
  • Proven track record of pre/post-silicon validation on analog or/and digital IPs.
  • Knowledge of processors and DSP architectures.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
  • Proficiency in C and Python programming.
  • Experience working with source control, code quality, bug management, and release management tools (Jenkins, GitHub/Perforce, Jira, Crucible).
  • Ability to debug complex software and hardware issues.
  • Competence in lab equipment, such as audio analyzers, BT testers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Mentoring of junior engineers, including complex technical features, testing strategies, automation, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex details and ability to negotiate and positively influence others.
  • Ability to draw inferences and highlight key points from a complex dataset.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of ANC theories and practices in applications such as headsets and automotives.
  • Experience in real-world ANC product design and/or verification.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports.
  • Proficient level of System Verilog, C#, R language.
  • Competencies to produce innovative test solutions, including complex automation.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of Analog and Digital Audio, Power Management Units (PMU), Battery Management, Clock Management, Peripherals, Power Optimization techniques, Signal processing.
  • Knowledge of databases.
