Carbon60 is excited to collaborate with a prominent leader in the aviation maintenance sector to seek an Industrial Chemistry Specialist for the Plating division.

This position is a permanent opportunity that has arisen due to ongoing growth and development within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, health and safety protocols, environmental regulations, and hazardous materials management within the plating facility, in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with plating technicians to maintain the quality of work involving Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium deposits.
  • Oversee the quality assurance of chromate treatments, chemical films, passivation, and nital etching processes.
  • Implement and enhance the Internal Quality System and Laboratory Management System.
  • Assist Analysts in conducting solution analyses for Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium.
  • Support Chemists in performing physical tests on samples as specified, including Hydrogen Detection Instrument tests and other necessary evaluations for pre and post-plating baths.
  • Analyze and refine existing processes to boost overall quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while minimizing waste through innovative approaches.
  • Monitor and sample effluent waste, ensuring accurate record-keeping at all times.
  • Maintain necessary supplies for conducting bath tests.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience with laboratory methodologies and a solid understanding of plating solutions, specifically Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium.
  • A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience in Chemistry and Plating Techniques.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational abilities with effective planning and operational execution skills.
