Job Title: Principal Buyer, Operational Purchasing

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Buyer, Operational Purchasing to join our team at Waters Corporation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the execution of the transactional procurement function, driving goals for buying channel utilization, and implementing the procure-to-pay process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to Category Management leaders to maximize buying channels in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Lead business collaborators through low-dollar sourcing events, considering business needs, costing, and higher savings.
  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities to ensure the procurement strategy is met throughout Waters' global environment.
  • Catalogue management and enablement within the SAP Ariba procurement system.
  • Ensure purchase orders are effectively enabled for purchasing and invoicing.
  • Examine transactions for discrepancies and noncompliance issues to support monthly reporting from self-designed and generated procurement reports.
  • Analyze procurement reporting to develop improvements for buying channels and implement solutions to reduce costs.
  • Monitor and lead procurement transactions in coordination with business collaborators, Finance, and sourcing functions.
  • Guide business stakeholders, Finance, and suppliers through the procurement of goods and services.
  • Provide recommendations regarding procurement controls to corporate finance and ensure accurate and compliant use.
  • Partner with the Source to Pay Process Owner to develop, monitor, and improve functions reporting and operating capabilities within Waters' procurement systems.
  • Lead end-to-end purchase requisition/purchase order activities in an automated/semi-automated work environment, including exception handling of POs not processed automatically and communication with external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within procurement.
  • Proven experience of using procurement tools – SAP Ariba would be beneficial but not crucial.
