We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst - Engineering to join our Finance team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and managing costs associated with engineering projects and activities.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Engineering department to ensure accurate costing and budgeting for all projects.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of engineering projects to identify cost drivers and opportunities for reduction.
- Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects to ensure alignment with overall financial objectives.
- Create and maintain cost forecasts to provide accurate and timely information to support strategic decision making.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures and financial insights to proposed process improvements.
- Provide cost engineering support for new product development, from concept through to implementation.
- Work closely with procurement, finance, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated cost management across departments.
- Generate regular cost reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Identify cost-related risks in engineering projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure financial control.
- Assist in evaluating supplier cost structures to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.
- Support the finance business partner with tracking of actual costs throughout the month.
- Work with the ERP development team to review and improve methods of collating and presenting cost data.
- Provide KPI matrix for cost targets, measuring departmental performance against budget stretch reduction commitments.
- Proficiency in cost engineering processes and tools.
- Engineering background or experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies.
- High attention to detail and superb analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret part drawings and convert to meaningful financial data.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, with excellent time management skills.
- Well-developed organizational skills.
- High professional standards, including quality of work, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Calm and confident under pressure, comfortable in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
