Your Responsibilities
Assist your manager in overseeing supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers, and fostering long-term supplier partnerships. Utilize analytical tools to evaluate and comprehend performance challenges and opportunities. Conduct regular visits to stores/websites and analyze customer insights and food trends to help shape our future product and range strategies. Contribute to the development and sourcing of customer and market insight-driven ranges and product innovations. Engage in negotiations with suppliers to establish and implement market-leading buy/move/sell strategies aligned with customer plans and category objectives, with guidance from your manager. Support the execution of trade, promotional, and event plans, aiming to exceed KPIs, enhance foot traffic, and accurately forecast demand. Assist in the Supply Chain Plan to ensure timely product availability in stores. Collaborate with suppliers and the category quality team to maintain product quality standards. Adhere to all Tesco policies, storage, and handover protocols while successfully completing all required training. Follow our Business Code of Conduct, always acting with integrity and due diligence.Qualifications
Experience:
A strong interest in fast-paced retail or experience in an FMCG environment. Previous buying experience (preferred). Knowledge of range and trade planning. Ability to prepare and analyze reports. Operational Skills:
Influencing and negotiation abilities. Stakeholder management skills. Supplier management experience. Expertise in buying and range management. Trade planning capabilities. Data analysis proficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
