We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to join our team at Reed Professional Services. As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (ASPA) and maintaining public confidence in the protection of animals used in scientific procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prioritize and process casework on a daily basis, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
- Provide strategic oversight of governance processes to ensure compliance with ASPA.
- Guide the regulated community on licensing requirements and compliance with ASPA, providing expert advice and support.
- Make informed decisions on licence applications under ASPA, considering complex data and regulatory frameworks.
- Conduct on-site visits, audits, documentation reviews, and interviews to assess licence holders' compliance.
- Analyze complex data to identify patterns and trends, informing decision-making and driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and monitor remedial plans to enhance compliance, working closely with licence holders and stakeholders.
- Communicate compliance indicators and instigate improvements, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Document assessments of compliance with clear improvement requirements, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Benchmark performance and adopt best practices for continuous improvement, driving excellence in regulatory compliance.
- Full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) or the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Knowledge of biomedical and life sciences research, including the UK research environment and regulatory framework.
- Experience in data collection, integration, and reporting, with a proven ability to analyze complex data.
- Proven ability in policy development, implementation, and assessment, with a track record of delivering objectives and innovating solutions.
- Ability to influence senior individuals positively, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in partnership working with organizations at all levels, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance and animal welfare.
- Skilled in communicating complex technical and/or legal subjects to diverse audiences, with a completer/finisher approach to tasks.
