Project Partners is collaborating with a reputable utilities organization seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
The primary objective of this position involves overseeing, coordinating, initiating, planning, executing, and monitoring all mechanical elements of predominantly clean water design initiatives.
Responsibilities include the mechanical design of infrastructure, particularly related to clean water treatment facilities, ensuring adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
Key deliverables encompass the creation of design outputs such as P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, pipework layouts, pipework schedules, P&E schedules, pipe supports/thrust design, and mechanical general arrangements and layouts.
Engaging with multidisciplinary designers to guarantee a comprehensive and cohesive design package.
Development of mechanical specifications and datasheets for the procurement of mechanical apparatus (including pumps, valves, pipework, and screens).
Presenting technical information or project outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintaining design contributions throughout the project lifecycle—from feasibility assessments to outline and detailed design, culminating in construction and handover.
Assisting in the management and oversight of project-level budgets while ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
Adhering to project timelines and all relevant knowledge areas.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within the clean water sector.
A BTEC HNC/HND in an engineering discipline is required as a minimum qualification.
Possession of an EUSR water hygiene card is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
A valid UK driving license is required.
The ability to troubleshoot and strategize effectively to align with the long-term vision of the organization.
