Job Title: Interim Building Surveyor

Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Building Surveyor to lead and manage the Facilities Management function, meeting the Council's Corporate Objectives and Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and supervise staff and budgets allocated to the Small Works and Repairs Section.
  2. Formulate and implement the Service Plan, contributing to the Corporate Plan, especially in relation to asset maintenance.
  3. Carry out staff development appraisals and set performance measures for Section members.
  4. Prepare estimates, budgets, and performance measures for the Section, managing large budgets for repairs and improvements across the building stock.
  5. Ensure efficient operation of Council policies, procedures, and requirements in respect of the Section.
  6. Provide small capital works and repair services for all premises within the Council's asset register.
  7. Ensure appropriate inspections are carried out of Council-owned buildings for repair, reactive, and planned maintenance.
  8. Manage small capital works and building repairs, overseeing maintenance/management of car parks, street/footpath lighting, and signage.
  9. Manage the Statutory Inspections regime, preparing, inviting tenders, and managing service contracts for boilers, lifts, and specialist electrical installations.
  10. Liaise as necessary in the disconnection of services, sealing up, and demolition of properties.
Requirements:
  1. HND/ Degree in Building surveying plus minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a Building surveying Role.
  2. Hold a current driving license and use of own vehicle.

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Problem-solving skills.
  3. Numeracy skills.
  4. Able to work as part of a team.
  5. Ability to prioritize and set own objectives.
