Role Overview:

Join the Facilities Management team at Bristol Waste Company as a Cleaning Operative. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver exceptional cleaning services, ensuring a pristine and hygienic environment across various sites.

A DBS check will be necessary for this role.

Key Duties:

Adhere to a structured weekly cleaning plan, which includes:

  1. Floor Maintenance:
    • Thoroughly vacuum, sweep, and mop diverse flooring types to maintain high cleanliness standards.
    • Perform carpet cleaning as needed.
  2. Sanitization:
    • Ensure toilets, sinks, and fixtures are sanitized to uphold hygiene standards.
  3. Dusting and Polishing:
    • Conduct dusting and polishing tasks to maintain cleanliness and presentation, including high-level dusting when necessary.
  4. Waste Management:
    • Empty waste receptacles and replace liners as required.
    • Sort and recycle waste appropriately in designated recycling areas.
  5. Supply Management:
    • Maintain and stock cleaning supplies in designated areas.
  6. Equipment Use:
    • Effectively operate cleaning machinery.
  7. Safety Adherence:
    • Follow all safety protocols related to cleaning operations.
    • Identify and report maintenance issues regarding safety equipment to the Team Leader.
    • Notify the appropriate contact about site safety and maintenance concerns.
  8. Task Execution:
    • Complete assigned tasks punctually with minimal supervision, adhering to the cleaning schedule.
    • Handle additional cleaning requests as they arise.
  9. Location-Specific Duties:
    • Perform extra cleaning tasks as needed based on site requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to acquire new skills.
  • Physical fitness for tasks involving walking, bending, etc., in an industrial setting.
  • Effective communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and responsible.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
