Lead Digital Manufacturing/Automation Engineer

NeoDyne is a leading UK and Irish system integrator specializing in digital manufacturing, MES, and OT cybersecurity. Our team is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge projects in high-end food and beverage manufacturing, pharma, and energy.

We are seeking an experienced Digital Manufacturing/Automation Engineer to manage and lead technical activities on digital manufacturing and automation projects. This is a full-time staff position based in our Chesterfield office, with an excellent salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume technical lead role on digital manufacturing/automation projects, including leading design, test, and integration activities.
  • Work with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers delivering projects to customer sites.
  • Develop engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and follow GAMP 5 guidelines.
  • Provide design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Work closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Provide technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, and Facilities departments.
  • Coordinate and support project commissioning activities.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers.
  • Research new technologies and trends in Industrial Automation and liaise with senior management on digital manufacturing/automation business strategy.
Requirements:
  • Experienced digital manufacturing/automation engineer with 3+ years' experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Instrumentation/Information Systems or related field.
  • PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs/Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
  • Experience working with validated Digital Manufacturing/Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
