Role Summary (Lead Laboratory Operations Technician)
The Laboratory Support team is tasked with delivering a variety of essential services to our bioanalytical laboratories, ensuring compliance with GxP regulations. Core responsibilities include routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, preparation of reagents, cleaning of glassware, and conducting pipette performance assessments, all of which must be executed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documented within our internal Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
The primary objective of this role is to enhance the operational efficiency of laboratory teams by ensuring that laboratory support services are executed to the highest standards. This includes planning and coordinating the daily activities of a team of technicians, effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks to maintain optimal functionality of operational laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee the daily operations of a small team, collaborating closely with the team coordinator and the broader Laboratory Support Team.
- Prioritize team workload effectively and adapt positively to challenges and shifting timelines.
- Conduct laboratory support tasks, including equipment maintenance, performance checks of pipettes, glassware cleaning, and reagent preparation.
- Participate in the planning and execution of continuous improvement initiatives within the Laboratory Support function.
- Provide line management for junior team members.
- Facilitate training for other team and departmental members.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with GLP standards.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting each other to achieve client objectives.
