About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our West Sussex Care Delivery Service. As a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team that consists of other Consultants, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and more.

The team cares for adults of working age from East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. You will have the opportunity to work with other services in the local area, including the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team, the Liaison team, and acute in-patient services. There is a separate community service for older persons and those with dementia.

This role can also support any interest in research, development, medical education, or special interests that you may have. We strongly believe in creating roles that provide a service but also give you the opportunity to develop your own areas of special interest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with other services in the local area to provide high-quality care to adults of working age.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Be included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
  • Have approved clinician status or be able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Have excellent knowledge in the specialty.
  • Have actively participated in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes.
