Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Grants and Programmes Intern. The successful candidate will assist in the management of research funding and career development programmes within the biomedical research field.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and implementation of grant schemes, including assessing eligibility of applicants and identifying peer reviewers.
- Assist in the delivery of career development programmes, including our flagship mentoring scheme.
- Contribute to the engagement strategy of the Careers Team, including working on the Academy's awardee and alumni programmes.
- Liaise with the Academy's Fellowship, external stakeholders, funders, and other professional bodies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Team player with excellent IT skills and good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to plan own work to ensure maximum effectiveness and prioritise to ensure tasks completed within deadline.
The internship will provide valuable experience in the management of research funding and career development programmes within the biomedical research field. The successful candidate will be embedded within the Academy's Careers Team and will have the opportunity to develop a wider network of contacts.
The internship is a full-time position for three months, and the stipend is covered during the internship as part of the PhD funding. Remote working is available, and travel expenses will be provided for travel within the UK as part of internship activities.
