In this position, working 39 hours per week, you will oversee and enhance the quality of nursing services for patients during night shifts, ensuring seamless operations.

As a key member of the management team, you will support Nurses, Senior Nurses, and clinical staff throughout the night, leading and coordinating clinical responsibilities to uphold the highest standards of care and safety.

In your capacity as a senior figure on the night shift team, you will provide mentorship, oversight, and training to junior staff members. This includes facilitating online training, monitoring observation levels, assessing work quality, and evaluating team effectiveness.

Responsibilities of the Overnight Nursing Supervisor include:

  • Offering nursing leadership and support to staff during night shifts across various wards.
  • Conducting clinical supervision with night personnel.
  • Recognizing any nighttime budgetary pressures and implementing strategies to mitigate their effects.
  • Managing staff assignments, redeployments, and daily ward numbers while controlling budgetary expenditures.
  • Collaborating closely with the on-site staff coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing levels for both night and day teams.
  • Providing necessary statistics and reports to the Hospital Director/Deputy Hospital Director.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD).
  • First-level nursing qualifications with evidence of professional growth, relevant skills, and knowledge.
  • Understanding of the broader healthcare landscape and political context.
  • Relevant clinical experience in a comparable setting.
  • A proven history of leadership capabilities.

Work Environment:

You will be part of Elysium Healthcare, a provider of low secure and rehabilitation services for adults primarily diagnosed with learning disabilities, who may also experience mental health issues, personality disorders, and conditions on the autistic spectrum.
