About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our Property Services team at Brent Council-Housing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a proactive surveying service that is commercially focused and provides excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a comprehensive technical surveying function, maximizing its effectiveness and financial performance.
  • Manage contractors and stakeholders across the business, building strong relationships and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing.

Requirements:

  • HNC, HND, BTEC HND, or higher in a building discipline, or over five years of hands-on experience in repairs surveying or construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge, with an ability to accurately diagnose and manage technical repair solutions.
  • Working knowledge of repair responsibilities, leasehold obligations, construction improvement, servicing, repair works, dampness, and condensation.
  • Familiarity with contract law, building regulations, gas servicing, asbestos, and health and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.
