Position Overview
AGM Construction Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to enhance our esteemed Commercial Services division. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse portfolio of clients within both the private and public sectors, ensuring excellence in service delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and uphold our reputation by identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Guarantee the quality and promptness of service delivery, serving as the primary contact to build client trust.
- Oversee all commercial aspects of projects, providing comprehensive reviews and reports.
- Play a crucial role in generating repeat business and exploring new market opportunities.
- Administer project accounts effectively, managing internal job costings in relation to fees and resource requirements.
- Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team across various locations.
- Prepare, edit, and compile client reports while assessing commercial situations and advising clients accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent).
- Possess a robust network and knowledge of local markets, demonstrating a successful track record in generating repeat business.
- Extensive experience in estimating for property-related developments.
- Proficient in preparing tender and contract documentation.
- Experience interfacing with clients at senior levels.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare and edit detailed reports.
- Excellent presentation skills to advise senior representatives on critical issues.
- Practical understanding of construction risk and commercial management.
- Knowledge of project components and overall construction costs, along with a solid understanding of various procurement options.
- Experience managing project commercial teams and supporting colleagues.
- Demonstrated efficiency in post-contract administration.
- Understanding of key commercial issues in the private sector.
- Experience in infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Proficient in IT skills, including Office, Outlook, BIM/CAD measurement, and Cost Planning software such as Cost-X.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Able to make informed decisions and work independently when necessary.
- Full driving license is desirable.
