Job Description

Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) department. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEN needs in a dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in creating a nurturing environment that enables students to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
  • Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days, promoting social skills and independence.
  • Embody the school's vision and core values, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Work with students who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Participate in 1:1 and small group work, ensuring students stay on track with the curriculum and make progress.

Requirements

  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience are essential in this role, as you will be working with students who require additional support.
  • Experience working in a SEN school is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with students, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
