Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Shift Manager to join our Engineering & Manufacturing Department at Michael Page. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating production activities for a manufacturing line, operating equipment while supervising and guiding team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure smooth production operations by proactively identifying and solving problems.
- Investigate internal and external complaints and report outcomes to the Quality and Production Leader.
- Troubleshoot process problems to minimize losses and implement improvements to exceed targets.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and coordinate production activities for a manufacturing line.
- Supervise and guide team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Quality and Safety
- Ensure that products are within specification and quality standards by following quality procedures and using tools such as AWAQS.
- Live the Safety stand and adhere to safety responsibilities.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with team members, quality and production leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless production operations.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in small projects to drive improvement and enhance the manufacturing process.
- Develop and implement plans to improve performance and minimize losses.
Requirements
- Education and Qualifications
- Minimum HNC qualification or equivalent.
- Experience and Skills
- People leadership experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to enhance this skillset through our company's designed approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Results-driven with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Benefits
- Eligible for the site quarterly bonus (maximum payout 3.5k / year).
- 7.5% employer pension contribution for a 5% employee contribution.
- Overtime eligible at attractive rates (1.5x on weekdays, 2x on weekends + weekend payment of £135).
