About the Role

HCRG Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Nurse to join our team in a military healthcare setting. As a Dental Nurse, you will provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer, enabling the maintenance of the surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments, and maintain the surgery
  • Perform reception duties, document handling, and operate the dental computing system
  • Process radiographs and maintain the central sterilization area
  • Ensure compliance with GDC Principles and Standards for Dental Professionals
  • Accountable to the Senior Dental Officer through line management
  • Comply with DPHC (Dental) policy on working hours and Health and Safety Policy directives
  • Carry out preventive cross-infection procedures, including sterilization of instruments and materials
  • Manage patient appointment systems and dental records
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions
  • Valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognized dental defense organization
  • Provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4
  • Completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography, and radiation protection
  • Trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures
  • Undertaken additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures
Desirable Requirements
  • Previous Ministry of Defence (MoD) experience
  • Hold a Dental Nurse qualification
