Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Skilled Workshop Forklift Engineer to join our team at Stacatruc East depot. As a key member of our Workshop Team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, servicing, and modifying a range of material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components, including hydraulic valves and rams, final drive and gearbox components, and engines and components.
  • Servicing gas, diesel, and electric powered forklift trucks, including checking brakes, lifting assembly, and steering in working order, changing oil and filters as necessary, and performing thorough examinations pending qualifications.
  • Overhauling forklift trucks, including completing partial strip-downs, preparing, steam cleaning, or painting the chassis, and bolting or welding on ancillaries.
  • Maintaining batteries, including checking voltages and fluid levels, using meters and hydrometers.
  • Preparing new and used equipment, including performing per-delivery inspections, using check-sheets from the manufacturer to check specifications, and overseeing the dispatch and receipt of trucks in and out of the depot.
  • Completing paperwork, including weekly time-sheets, daily progress reports, and liaising with the Service Controller or Transport team as necessary.

Requirements:

  • City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering related field.
  • Diagnostic computer skills.
  • Qualified in a related field or similar years' experience.
  • Able to work unsupervised as required.
  • Experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering in heavy goods/plant machinery/automotive.
