Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Elysium Healthcare. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, and risk assessments for children and adolescents with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments and individualized evidence-based psychological interventions for patients with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning, and decision-making with a formulation-driven psychological perspective.
- Manage a complex caseload as an individual psychological therapist working within a multidisciplinary team, facilitating group psychological interventions and family/systemic interventions.
- Monitor clinical progress through regular reviews of psychological treatment.
- Provide high-quality clinical supervision to junior members of the psychology team.
- Support staff development through training, consultation, formulation meetings, and reflective practice sessions.
- Contribute to service developments within the therapies team and wider service.
- Receive regular supervision and line management from the Regional Therapies Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
- Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas).
- Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.
- Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities, and the impact these have on children and adolescents, and their families.
- Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma, and personality disorders is also desirable.
- Post-qualification training in the specialist application of therapeutic models relevant for working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and other comorbidities (or for newly qualified psychologists an interest in undertaking further specialist training).
- Experience of supervising and training junior members of the team.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patients' psychological care and treatment as a qualified professional within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
Elysium Healthcare provides a CAMHS Tier 4 eating disorder service for young people aged 12 to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder, or those with eating difficulties with other co-occurring conditions. Our patients can also present with co-morbid attachment difficulties, ASC (both diagnosed and undiagnosed), and with emotion regulation difficulties. We provide individualized and formulation-driven treatment programs to support children and adolescents to begin their recovery and transition safely back into the community.
