Facilities Engineer

Location: St Helens

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee, manage, and sustain operational plants across various disciplines to fulfill customer requirements while adhering to budgetary constraints.

- Organize and coordinate maintenance tasks at primary and secondary sites in compliance with company and industry standards.

- Supervise both BOC and contracted staff in alignment with Permit to Work (PTW) protocols and actively contribute to the site’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) objectives.

- Serve as the lead personnel during plant emergencies and execute relevant Site Emergency Plans.

- Regularly inspect and assess all operational equipment and machinery. Identify faults and provide actionable feedback for repairs.

- Engage in maintaining the site’s on-call system.

Qualifications and Skills

- Minimum NVQ Level 3; HNC in an engineering discipline (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical) is preferred.

- Several years of relevant hands-on experience.

- Strong foundational knowledge of industry standards and regulatory codes.

- In-depth understanding of Permit to Work procedures.

- Familiarity with current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation (NEBOSH certification is advantageous).

- Knowledge of chemical and process plant operations.

- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service under pressure.
