Senior Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at ICAEW. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in providing a professional financial accounting service to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial accounting services to ICAEW and its subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Controller with month-end reporting, fixed assets accounting, and statutory accounts production.
  • Act as a primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and resolving any issues or queries.
  • Prepare IFRS financial statements for ICAEW Group and its subsidiary companies, including day-to-day management of the interim and year-end audit.
  • Work closely with international bookkeeping providers to ensure correct accounting within international entities, including critical review and feedback on local monthly accounting packs and reconciliations.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting process, ensuring adoption of appropriate accounting policies and estimates, and accounting for fixed assets under IFRS.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including reconciliation of intercompany balances.
  • Report to the Office of National Statistics and work closely with the Finance Business Partnering Team and other members of the Finance team on financial reporting matters.
Requirements:
  • Relevant CCAB accountancy qualification and strong experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Technically strong, with demonstrable experience dealing with complex accounting matters and application of IFRS.
  • Proactive and committed, with a real desire to help improve ICAEW and team performance.
  • Strong process and project skills with enthusiasm for change management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Nav / Business Central / CCH Tagetik Account Production or similar software desirable.
