Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Youth Development Specialist. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, working on a new project to develop a multi-disciplinary team that supports adoptive children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including education, health, and social care workers, to provide a comprehensive support system for young people.
  • Work with a trauma-informed approach to support young people in a strength-based way, aiming to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Develop and implement creative programs to enhance the youth offer within our organization, in collaboration with the Nottinghamshire Youth Service.
  • Participate in the strategic MDT group and contribute to the development of our support services.
  • Travel throughout the D2N2 local authority area to provide support and services to families and young people.

Requirements

  • Passion for adoption issues and a commitment to supporting vulnerable families.
  • Working knowledge of youth provision in Derby/Derbyshire and Nottingham City/Nottinghamshire.
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
