Job Title: Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistants. As a Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in peripatetic posts within the Derby hub, supporting children with Special Educational Needs in various academies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Special Educational Needs in a peripatetic role
  • Work in partnership with teachers and other professionals to develop effective strategies for supporting children with SEN
  • Develop and implement learning resources that scaffold and support learning
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure seamless support for children
  • Meet the requirements of the Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme

Requirements:

  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework
  • Passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them
