Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join our team at the Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Brent Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service, you will be working with individuals, couples, and families affected by severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and clinical systemic formulation to individuals, couples, and families with complex mental health needs.
  • Select and deliver specialist therapeutic interventions, drawing from a range of systemic models, and monitor outcome and modify interventions as necessary.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and provide advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
  • Act as lead professional where necessary, taking responsibility for the planning and reviewing of care plans for service users.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information with service users, carers, and colleagues, taking account of communication needs.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant mental health/social welfare profession and demonstrable practice in this field.
  • Masters level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent qualification, accredited by UKCP.
  • Registered with the UKCP as a Systemic Psychotherapist (or equivalent) and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the UKCP.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Additional qualification in a specialised area of family or couple therapy such as Open Dialogue, EFT, or ABFT.
  • Recognised qualification in another psychotherapy modality or application, such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, MBT, DBT, CBT, etc.
  • Experience of working with, and addressing issues of, diversity, including experience of working within a multicultural framework.
What We Offer

We provide excellent accredited supervision by senior therapists to help colleagues consolidate their therapy skills and self-reflexive practice in a focused and supported way. The post-holder will have an opportunity to contribute towards a weekly family therapy clinic run by an experienced family therapist, supervisor, and trainer. You would also be invited to join a systemic case discussion and reflective practice group for family therapists working in Adult Mental Health in CNWL.
