Job Summary

Bcscpa is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in Boone, NC. As a key member of our firm, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring tax team members, reviewing and managing tax engagements, and assuming full responsibility for directing large engagements and special assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Tax team to achieve exceptional results and high levels of engagement.
  • Oversee the review and management of tax engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct large engagements and special assignments, taking full responsibility for their success.
  • Supervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, staff and senior accountants assigned to engagements.
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Tax process.
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency and stay up-to-date with legislative and regulatory tax law developments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to enhance their understanding of business and tax issues.
  • Monitor and respond to IRS and Department of Revenue notifications and audits.
  • Demonstrate expertise in firm software packages and use them effectively and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree in accounting preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns with familiarity in payroll tax, sales tax, and general bookkeeping.
  • Current CPA license required.
