Level 3 - £21.12 P.A.Y.E. OR £27.74 Umbrella Level 2 - £20.06 P.A.Y.E Umbrella (Progression to Level 3 after 9 months)

Shifts:
Mixed (5 on 5 off days and nights, 12-hour shifts) Must be adaptable to both day and night shifts for this position

Hours Per Week:
Overtime available

Duration:
Ongoing, (guaranteed for 12 months, likely to extend to around 3+ years with the potential for permanent placement based on performance)

Industries/Disciplines Considered:
Light vehicle, heavy vehicle, automotive mechanics, maintenance technicians (machine), aviation, plant, Armed Forces.

This position presents a significant opportunity to advance within the rolling stock maintenance sector. The company is actively seeking committed individuals to join their team as Mechanical Maintenance Technicians in the transportation industry.

Position Overview:
You will be instrumental in the upkeep, repair, and fault diagnosis of rolling stock passenger vehicles. Your responsibilities will encompass working on braking systems, pneumatics, wheelsets, and various mechanical components to ensure the safety and reliability of trains for passengers.

  • Performing routine repairs, inspections, and maintenance
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical & electronic faults
  • Addressing operational defects
  • Conducting regular servicing
  • Documenting faults and rectification efforts in detail
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures and completing all necessary documentation
  • Utilizing essential equipment for maintenance tasks
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Identifying potential enhancements and providing feedback to the engineering team
  • Continuously seeking improvements in work processes

Candidate Profile/Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess experience in workplace health and safety, vehicle mechanics, and thorough fault-finding analysis and repairs. Familiarity with Mechanical Principles and maintenance protocols is advantageous, along with the capability to electronically document work.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include an NVQ Level 2 qualification in a Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience. Ideally, candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant mechanical/electrical work experience.
