Procurement Assistant

The Company
An innovative organization, emerging from the University of Oxford, specializing in the design and production of groundbreaking equipment, is seeking a Procurement Assistant to become part of a dedicated team comprising Engineers, Technicians, and Supply Chain Experts.

About the Role
The products developed are utilized worldwide across various sectors, playing a crucial role in highly regulated processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Acquire goods, materials, components, or services while adhering to specified cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Assist the procurement function and relevant departments, addressing any supply issues that may affect operational efficiency.
- Establish, nurture, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication.
- Ensure adherence to company protocols, purchasing policies, and procedures throughout the procurement cycle.
- Gather and analyze data related to supplier performance for evaluation purposes, including maintaining updates on long lead orders.
- Engage with suppliers to resolve issues concerning pricing, quality, delivery, or invoicing.
- Generate purchase orders as necessary, including daily internal purchase requisitions and utilizing the MRP system.
- Apply appropriate expediting measures to guarantee timely delivery of raw materials to meet production schedules.
- Manage the non-conforming product process under the guidance of QHSE and SSCM.

Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in procurement, MRP, and inventory management in a similar capacity is preferred.
- A background in manufacturing or production purchasing is advantageous, with a solid understanding of current purchasing and supplier management processes.
- High proficiency in numeracy and strong computer skills.
- Effective negotiation and verbal communication abilities.
- An organized approach to tasks with keen attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to think proactively and prioritize tasks.
- Capacity to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
- Demonstrated flexibility, eagerness to learn, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in MS Office and general IT applications.
