Job Purpose

We are seeking an ambitious newsreader to deliver our weekend bulletins on BBC Radio Berkshire. The ideal candidate will have a great on-air voice, experience in producing and presenting live radio news bulletins, and exceptional writing skills.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Write, compile, and present news bulletins at the weekend on BBC Radio Berkshire.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other parts of the newsroom to ensure our weekend news content reaches the largest possible audience.
  • Identify and sell great stories, and work to tight deadlines to get them on air.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
  • A great on-air voice.
  • Experience of producing and presenting live radio news bulletins.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • An understanding of what makes great radio bulletins and the stories people in Berkshire are interested in.
  • A track record of making editorial decisions on their own.
  • Strong audio editing skills (knowledge of Dira is desirable but not essential).
  • Good organisational skills.
