Lead Application Support Engineer (Linux SQL)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Application Support Engineer to join our team in London. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support for our Linux SQL applications, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence within the team.

About the Role:

This is a senior, hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of Linux OS, SQL skills, and experience with scripting or coding. You will work closely with the team lead to develop and implement technical solutions, resolve complex issues, and ensure high-quality support for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support for Linux SQL applications, including troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Drive technical excellence within the team, ensuring that best practices are followed and technical debt is minimized.
  • Collaborate with the team lead to develop and implement technical solutions, including code reviews and testing.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure seamless integration of new features and fixes.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS and SQL skills, including writing queries and commands.
  • Experience with scripting or coding, preferably in Perl or bash.
  • Good understanding of networking technologies.
  • Collaborative mindset, with excellent client and customer service skills.
  • BSc Computer Science degree or similar technical discipline.
