Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our team in South West London. As a Building Surveyor, you will be working on a planned maintenance contract, managing technical and complex projects from start to finish, providing a highly professional and competent service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspection and Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify potential issues and defects.
  2. Project Management: Assist senior surveyors in managing property portfolios and transactions, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  3. Technical Due Diligence: Prepare technical reports to support property transactions and provide expert advice on building pathology surveys.
  4. Construction Monitoring: Monitor construction work and the performance of project design teams to ensure compliance with building regulations.
  5. Client Communication: Produce reports to clients and engage in face-to-face communication to provide expert advice and support.
  6. Travel: Travel to appointments around the UK, primarily in London and the South East.
  7. Specialized Skills: Possess experience in dealing with Party Wall matters, Dilapidations, Defect diagnosis, and Contract Administration, as well as good knowledge of current Building Regulations.
  8. Contract Management: Manage contracts from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulations.
  9. External Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers.
  10. Personal Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and own a car.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building surveying, project management, and budgetary control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
