Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, focusing on delivering exceptional results for our projects.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and will be an integral part of our Commercial Team, which oversees the comprehensive commercial processes and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the implementation of commercial applications for site personnel while fostering strong relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Emphasizing project cost and value reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments in line with the project risk management plan and monitoring related documentation.
  • Overseeing all aspects of sub-contractor management, ensuring compliance with submission timelines for quotations and applications.
  • Facilitating the selection and securing of services, along with managing monthly assessments, variations, and final account agreements.
  • Enhancing knowledge of commercial matters and contract law to effectively manage compensation events and claims.
  • Proposing and developing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency, minimizing time spent on reconciliation tasks.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to maintain adequate commercial oversight.
  • Assisting the team and Project Manager in recovering contract costs and improving project profitability by identifying variations and delays.
  • Contributing to the preparation of monthly financial reports and forecasts for analysis with Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Developing strong negotiation skills and participating in handover and progress meetings as needed.
  • Contributing to the creation of a site commercial manual and documentation for variations.
  • Performing monthly reporting for both clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring detailed variance analysis and effective cash collection.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in IT applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of contract costing and contract law (NEC 3 & 4, Options A, C & E).
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying and contract management.
  • Experience in capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Subcontract management experience and cost/value reconciliation skills.
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • A full clean UK driving license.
  • Strategic thinking and motivational leadership capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills and business analysis capabilities.
  • Industry knowledge.
