Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accident and Emergency Consultant to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

About the Role:

  • Provide expert anaesthetic care to patients in the emergency department and theatres
  • Lead a team of anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the design and implementation of new procedures and protocols
  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless patient care

Person Specification:

  • Experience in the management of high-risk patients
  • Formal teaching/training related qualifications or accreditation
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical governance and its implications
  • IT skills and computer literacy
  • Completion of specialist training programme in anaesthesia or equivalent (CCT/CESR)
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • SIA (Special Interest Area) or equivalent Fellowship or equivalent proven capabilities in relevant area of expertise for post being applied for

Registration:

  • Candidate should be on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia (CCT/CESR) or, if UK trainee, within 6 months of CCT at time of interview.

Teaching:

  • Stage 3 or equivalent level of training in Education and Training (including has met requirements to be a clinical supervisor)
  • Experience in teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
