About the RoleAs a Unit Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, and Health Care Assistants to deliver high-quality care to our residents. You will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to drive quality and maintain high standards of care on your unit.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage your unit's care and nursing teams to ensure we meet the medical, physical, and emotional needs of our residents.
- Provide strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee and manage all clinical elements and risks on your unit.
- Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately.
- Act as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review, and update of their care profiles.
- Supervise and manage the ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording, and disposal of medication on your unit.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A first-level nursing registration with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN.
- Post-registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications.
- A thorough understanding of best practice in nursing care.
- A good standard of digital skills.
