Position Overview

At Lincolnshire County Council, we are dedicated to providing educational programs for young individuals aged 16 to 24 who may face behavioral challenges or require academic assistance. As an Educational Support Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in helping these learners grasp theoretical concepts and apply them in practical settings.

In this role, you will work closely with students either individually or in small groups, within a supportive learning environment designed to foster engagement. With class sizes limited to a maximum of 12, you will assist learners in managing their behavior and maintaining focus during lessons, where each day brings new opportunities and challenges. Our program includes guest speakers, themed project weeks, and various activities that promote both learning and personal development.

This position requires a commitment of 16 hours per week, spread over two days.

Team Dynamics

Our team values open communication and collaboration. At the end of each day, we conduct debrief sessions to share insights, document progress, and discuss any challenges faced. Your colleagues will include tutors, behavioral coaches, job coaches, and employment officers, all working towards the common goal of ensuring our learners achieve their aspirations for sustained employment and independence.

We also prioritize team bonding through social events and development days, where staff can engage in training and team-building activities.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for motivated individuals who can utilize their creativity to engage and inspire young learners. Ideal candidates will be proactive, adaptable, and empathetic to the needs of our students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records are essential.

Effective communication is key, as you will need to relate well to both young people and adults, contributing positively to the team's success.

While prior experience with vulnerable learners is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. We are committed to developing our staff and offer comprehensive training, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Training in Systematic Instruction. Our approach to behavior management is evidence-based, drawing from established practices.
