Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Systems Engineer to provide Building Management Systems (BMS) design and project engineering delivery strategies for medium to large BMS projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive BMS system designs and scope packages, including panel design, hardware configuration, field equipment, software configuration, graphic packages, and installation and commissioning scope.
  • Interpret customer specifications and develop detailed designs for BMS systems in various building types, from simple to complex.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in BMS design and implementation.
  • Conduct site surveys, working around live plant and equipment, to gather data for design development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead a small team of engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Conduct pre-sales technical surveys to assess customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum HNC qualification in a relevant subject area, such as electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Significant industry experience in control and automation of building systems, preferably with a focus on BMS design and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including BMS, fire safety, and building networks.
  • Experience with BMS/control system design, software configuration, graphic generation, control panel design, and PLCs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
