Position Overview

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Three Towns Resource Centre in Stevenston.

This role is part of the North Ayrshire Adult Mental Health Psychological Specialty. The Clinical Psychologists within this specialty are integrated within the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team located at the Three Towns Resource Centre.

We invite applications from both recently qualified Clinical Psychologists and final-year Trainees enrolled in a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme.

Working Hours:

37 hours per week (10 sessions weekly).

Flexibility in contracted hours can be considered, with a minimum of 23 hours per week (0.6 whole-time equivalent).

Key Responsibilities:

You will engage in delivering highly specialized psychological assessments (including neuropsychological evaluations), formulations, and therapeutic interventions for adults facing a diverse range of complex psychological issues and severe mental health conditions. Within the Psychological Specialty, clinicians are trained and experienced in providing and supervising the delivery of various therapeutic modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Mindfulness.

Psychologists in our team also contribute dedicated support to the Digital Therapies Team and the adult acute inpatient wards. You will have the opportunity to participate in service development, teaching, training, and supervision of colleagues, collaborating closely with both the Psychological Specialty and the multidisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Candidates should possess a Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

An Honours degree in Psychology (minimum upper second class) is also required.

Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist is essential for this position. Trainee Clinical Psychologists are not required to be HCPC registered at the time of application but must obtain registration before commencing the role.
